Thankful

I am thankful for....

1. My husband.  Man, I am one lucky lady to have this man in my life. God knows what he is doing and he has truly blessed me with Eddie.  This man is the most loving, giving, caring, wonderful, sexy man I have ever met.  I am so happy that he asked me to be his wife forever.

2. My family.  I have an amazing family including my in-laws.  Eddie and I would not be where we are today with out our families.

3. My friends.  I have one amazing group of friends! No matter where we are or what we are doing we are ALWAYS there for each other.

4. My great and mighty God. He is so wonderful.  We all sin and we are still forgiven. How great is he?

5. My job.  Getting transferred 5 weeks into school was very hard for me.  It has taught me that I can do things I never thought I would be able to.  I have made some great new friends. And I have learned that I look okay in the color green :)

6.  My home.  Oh, I just love our home.  :) It is so perfect for us.

7.  My car.  I love my car and I am SO THANKFUL that it does not cut off in the middle of the road like my Focus did.

8.  My sweet puppy.  I just love that big dog.  He is the best. :)

One month down....

Well, I made it through my first month of teaching!! And I have realized that I was BORN to do this! This month has been incredible! The group of kiddos I was blessed with were amazing! I survived two IEP meetings, faculty meetings, parent phone calls, the whole nine yards! I LOVE LOVED being a Horn Lake Eagle!  I found out last Wednesday that the school was losing a SPED unit and I was being transferred to Lake Cormorant Middle School.  So now I am officially a GATOR! Not a Florida Gator, just Lake Cormorant :) Yes, I was upset when I got the news (one reason is because I actually thought that it meant I was losing my job completely). Well, upset is an understatement.  I was a little devastated.  But I am over it and completely PUMPED about starting my new job! I get to actually have my DREAM job as a community-based teacher!!!! How many people can say that they accomplish getting their dream job just a few short months after graduating college??

So with all that said,

GO (Lake Cormorant) GATORS!!!

OH YEAH, I CAN'T FORGET ABOUT MY 2-0 REBELS!!! :) HOTTY TODDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a....

Daughter- My parents have taught me wonderful things in my lifetime.  I thank them for loving me, punishing me, protecting me, and everything else in between. My mother is one of my best friends, and I am TOTALLY a daddy’s girl! :)
Aunt- I have the most precious niece in the entire world. I would not trade her for anything and cannot imagine my life without her.
Wife- I try to be the best wife possible to Eddie. Man, is he a good man! I can’t wait to start a family with him.  He will be the best father ever.  But, for right now, we are completely enjoying the married life together! Marriage is SO easy when you are married to the right person! :)
Friend- I have some amazingly wonderful friends! I hope that I have been the best friend possible to everyone! :)
College Graduate- HOTTY TODDY! I FINALLY graduated from college from my favorite school! It felt like it took FOREVER! :)

And we're the best group of friends that anyone could have!

I haven't posted in a while because I just didn't really know where to begin with what I wanted to say.  I think I figured it out.  This subject had been on my mind for a LOOOOONG time and now I need to finally get it off my chest.  Here we go.....

I went to a baby shower the other day and it was so lovely.  The mother-to-be is the sweetest woman and I can't wait to meet her sweet little girl.  Her friend since 2nd grade threw the shower for her.  I then realized that I don't have a friend that I have know that long.  I have HAD a friend that I became friends with around the 7th or 8th grade, but that is long time over.  She was my best friend, through thick and thin, through good times and bad.  We went through a lot together but apparently my wedding was what tore us apart.  You would think I would have let it go by now, BUT that's not how I roll.  The disappointment that I felt in her during the planning of it and the DAY OF is indescribable.  She went completely nuts-o! I wish that I could let it go, but I can't.  I am not sure why, but I just can't.  I have to get over the fact that I don't have that best friend since 2nd grade but I DO have the most amazing AMAZING friends that I have met over the years.  I wouldn't trade my group of friends for anything.  These are the people that I can depend on for anything. No matter where they live or what they have going on in their lives, I can ALWAYS lean on them.  I love my friends.  It's hard to lose a best friend of so many years, but it made it so easy when I had these girls in my life.  I am so grateful for my friends. I love you girls!

Are you ready??

I have come to a great place in my life. I graduated from Ole Miss yesterday!!!! I could not have done it without the support and love from some pretty amazing people in my life.
To my husband,
Sweet man, I love you so much. I don’t know how I could have done all of this without you.  You gave me encouraging words when I needed it. You gave me a shoulder to cry on when I felt defeated. You are so amazing and I thank you for everything.  I am blessed to be married to you.
To my amazing parents,
Y’all saw me through it all, from beginning to end.  I can’t begin to say thank you enough for the things y’all have done for me.  I have learned so much from both of you over the years.  Thank you for loving, caring, and even grounding me when I needed it!!  I know why y’all did it all!
To my friends,
Y’all are the best! When I need a friend to vent to, y’all are always there! When I need a friend to help me with anything, y’all are there! I have the best, most amazing group of friends a girl could ask for!!

This has been a long, tiring journey that I could not have gone through without any of y’all.  I love all of you so much.

New things!

Recently, a few of my friends have had some changes in their lives!
Eddie and I could not be any happier for all of them!

Congrats to Cody and Jessica on the news of their pregnancy!
Jessica looked like a movie star at the rehearsal dinner for Erica and Jaxon!

Next, our good friends Erica and Jaxon got hitched!!
Congrats to you two! I love the married life and I know y'all will, too!!
Their wedding took place in Eads, TN at Carahills. It was a beautiful wedding!

Here are a few of the best photos of the night!!
The first kiss as a married couple!

Happy One Year Anniversary to THE PRIVETT'S!
We made it!
When we got engaged we had many people that doubted us....BUT HAHA!! We proved y'all wrong!!
But, for real, I am so truly happy with my life. I hope everyone can be as blessed as Eddie and I are!

I am currently on the road to becoming a certified Special Education teacher! I have started Teach Mississippi Institute, which has actually made me have a few nervous breakdowns. But in just a few short weeks I will be a college graduate and a teacher!!
Whoopwhoop!!

I am truly blessed :)

New Wife Life

As Eddie and I come up on our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, I have been thinking about how far we have come! We now have a beautiful home, a new car, and a sweet puppy! I am totally loving the new wife life! Not for the material things, but because I am spending everyday with an AMAZING man! :)

Even though everything is going wonderfully, I am still so insecure about the dumbest thing.....COOKING!! One of my silly little fears is not cooking as well as my Mama!! Here lately, however, I have been kicking butt in the kitchen!! I made vegetable beef soup and chili for the first time!! When I tell you it was the BOMB, I am so serious!! So, now I am a little more confident wearing my chef hat! So, if you have any fun and EASY recipes for me, send them my way!!!

Just believe a little...

I recently took my Special Education Praxis, which was pretty freaking hard. The week leading up to it I was so nervous! I probably cried at least once everyday and twice the day of! Eddie told me that if I couldn't believe in myself, why should anyone believe in me? He had to be hard on me for me to understand that I COULD do it! And....I DID!!

Now that I have passed my test I have to start my licensing program, TMI. Totally NOT looking forward to that!! But, ya gotta do what ya gotta do!!! :) This is my dream and I will do everything to obtain it!! Recently though I have started to get scared to death of finding a job and doing well! What if I can't find a job? What if the people I work with don't think I am a good teacher? What if, what if, WHAT IF??

Welcome :)

The husband: Eddie
The wife: Ashley
Married: March 12, 2011

We are The Privett's and this is our life....in a nut shell :)

It all started when a boy and a girl met after they graduated high school....
And the rest is history ;)
I have loved this man since the day I met him. I thank the good Lord every day for blessing me with such a wonderful man.

We do not have any kids yet and won't for another 3-5 years. But we did just get an amazing puppy!!
He is a Chow/Shepard mix named Rebel. :)

I am a senior at the good ol' University of Mississippi majoring in General Studies. I am doing the alternate route to teaching and will be blessed to teach special needs children. I cannot wait until the day I can have my own room with my own kids. But right now I have a pretty sweet job at Desoto Central High School working with some pretty amazing kids and an awesome teacher to learn from.

I am just a simple, newlywed, full time student, and full time working girl trying to BECOME A PERFECT PRIVETT! Enjoy and welcome to my blog. :)
